The Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Faculty Planning and Performance Business Partner to act as the critical link between institutional strategy and faculty-level delivery.

Working within the Strategic Planning and Performance team, you will partner closely with Deputy Deans, Executive Deans and the Head of Faculty Operations to support strategic planning, performance monitoring and evidence-based decision making across the University's faculties. You will play a key role in ensuring that faculty plans, resource decisions and operational priorities are informed by robust data, aligned with institutional objectives and focused on delivering measurable outcomes.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the University's Faculty Office Transformation Programme and help embed a culture of performance management, continuous improvement and data-informed planning across the institution.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development and monitoring of faculty strategic and operational plans.
Provide insightful analysis and performance reporting to support senior decision making.
Develop and maintain performance dashboards, KPIs and reporting frameworks.
Identify trends, risks and opportunities within faculty performance data.
Support resource planning, workload modelling and demand analysis.
Partner with Deputy Deans and Faculty leadership teams to translate strategic objectives into actionable plans.
Contribute to the successful delivery of the Faculty Office Transformation Programme.
Support governance processes and represent Strategic Planning and Performance within faculty forums and university-wide groups.
Drive continuous improvement through the effective use of data, insight and performance management methodologies.

About You
You will be a strategic thinker with excellent analytical skills and experience of working in a planning, performance, business partnering or organisational improvement role.

You will be comfortable working with complex datasets and translating information into clear, actionable insight for senior stakeholders. Equally important is your ability to build trusted relationships, challenge constructively and influence decision making across a diverse range of academic and professional services colleagues.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:

Significant experience in planning, performance, business partnering or organisational improvement.
Have faculty knowledge and / or experience of working with faculties.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Experience of performance reporting, business intelligence and data visualisation tools such as Power BI.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Experience supporting strategic planning, change initiatives or transformation programmes.
The ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior leaders.
An understanding of higher education planning, performance or governance frameworks would be advantageous.

Salary Information:

New appointments will routinely be made to the entry spine point (minimum) for the advertised grade, from where the individual will (in addition to receiving annual cost-of-living-related increases) progress through the pay range to the maximum for the grade, within a reasonable timeframe. This ensures fairness, consistency and transparency in our pay structures. A higher starting salary or market supplement may be available for a truly exceptional candidate when circumstances fully justify a departure from our normal policy.
