Job Summary

We are seeking a creative and technically skilled Web Designer to design, build, and maintain responsive websites and web-based applications. The successful candidate will combine strong visual design skills with technical expertise to create engaging, user-friendly websites that deliver an excellent customer experience across desktop and mobile devices.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain responsive websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and modern web technologies.
Build and customise WordPress websites, themes and plugins according to business requirements.
Create visually appealing user interfaces with a strong focus on usability and accessibility.
Develop and maintain websites using CMS platforms including WordPress and Joomla.
Collaborate with management to understand business requirements and convert them into functional website solutions.
Optimise website performance, page speed and SEO best practices.
Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.
Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways and online forms where required.
Perform website testing, debugging and troubleshooting.
Monitor website security, updates and regular maintenance.
Manage website hosting, deployment and version control.
Work closely with marketing teams to improve online visibility and digital campaigns.
Produce technical documentation and maintain coding standards.

Skills & Experience Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
Strong knowledge of: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
Experience developing websites using WordPress.
Knowledge of responsive and mobile-first web design.
Experience using Bootstrap or similar front-end frameworks.
Working knowledge of PHP and MySQL.
Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
Understanding of website optimisation and SEO fundamentals.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Desirable Skills

Experience with Joomla CMS.
Knowledge of Node.js.
WooCommerce development experience.
Experience integrating third-party APIs.
Understanding of website security best practices.
Experience with Google Analytics and Search Console.
