Job Summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Commis Chef/Chef de Partie to join our busy kitchen team in a vibrant 57‑bedroom hotel. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of their culinary career who is eager to learn, develop skills, and work within a fast‑paced, professional environment.

The ideal applicant will possess a passion for food, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to food safety standards.

Responsibilities

Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards
Assist in meal preparation, ensuring timely delivery during busy service periods
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in compliance with food safety regulations
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, and fryers
Monitor food quality and presentation before serving
Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Restock ingredients and supplies as needed to maintain efficient workflow

Qualifications

Previous experience in food preparation or as a kitchen assistant is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Knowledge of cooking techniques and meal preparation methods
Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Experience working in a restaurant or hospitality environment is advantageous
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Flexibility to work during peak hours, including weekends and evenings, bank holidays and Christmas/New Year.
