Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Kitchen Manager to oversee daily operations within a busy culinary environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food and service. This role involves supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and managing the overall efficiency of the kitchen to meet high-quality standards. The Kitchen Manager will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive team atmosphere and ensuring customer satisfaction through excellent food production and service.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate all kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation
Lead and manage kitchen staff, providing training, support, and motivation to ensure optimal performance
Oversee food production processes to maintain consistency, quality, and safety standards
Manage stock checks and ordering of kitchen ingredients
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene practices at all times
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control waste to optimise operational efficiency
Develop menus in collaboration with culinary staff, incorporating innovative dishes while maintaining cost-effectiveness
Monitor kitchen operations during service hours to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of orders
Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
Handle customer feedback related to food quality or service issues professionally and promptly

Skills

Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen or hospitality setting
Strong background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a collaborative environment
In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene regulations
Experience in menu development and culinary innovation
Effective leadership qualities with the ability to organise multiple tasks efficiently under pressure
Good communication skills for liaising with staff, suppliers, and customers
Familiarity with restaurant operations, serving procedures, and hospitality best practices
