Full job description

What you will be doing in the role:

Provide coordination and administrative support to projects and programmes across the Directorate.
Maintain project documentation, plans, logs and records, ensuring accuracy and version control.
Organise and support project meetings, workshops and governance forums, including agendas, minutes and action tracking.
Monitor project risks, issues, dependencies and milestones, identifying mitigations and escalating concerns where required.
Lead allocated project workstreams, coordinating stakeholders and tracking delivery progress.
Prepare and quality‑assure reports, presentations, dashboards and governance papers for project boards.
Support stakeholder engagement, including stakeholder mapping, communication planning and drafting engagement materials.
Analyse project information and performance data to identify trends, risks and opportunities.
Assist with planning and delivering workshops and engagement events.
Contribute to continuous improvement, helping refine project delivery processes, tools and ways of working.
Provide general support to ensure effective delivery of transformation and service improvement initiatives.

What are we looking for?

To be successful in this role you will have:

An understanding of the systems, processes and practices that support effective project delivery.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
Excellent organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
Confidence working both independently and collaboratively in fast‑moving environments.
The ability to provide clear advice and guidance, adapting your communication style to suit different audiences.
Competence in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint, with the ability to collect, analyse and present data.
A basic understanding of highways, transport and planning.
