Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Ground Worker to join our team, responsible for assisting with landscape maintenance, construction projects, and general site upkeep. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, practical skills in using hand and power tools, and experience in horticulture or gardening. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in construction and maintenance within a dynamic environment. The position is paid and suitable for individuals eager to contribute to outdoor projects while gaining valuable experience.

Duties

Assist with landscape maintenance tasks including planting, pruning, and turf care
Operate hand tools such as spades, rakes, and shovels to prepare sites for planting or construction
Use power tools and machinery including excavators, irrigation systems, and other equipment for site development
Support with excavation activities and site preparation for construction or landscaping projects
Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure safety and efficiency
Assist with the installation and repair of irrigation systems
Help with the transportation of materials around the site using appropriate equipment
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations

Skills

Experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture is highly desirable
Mechanical knowledge related to the operation and maintenance of power tools and machinery such as excavators
Proficiency with hand tools used in construction and gardening tasks
Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and repair processes
Construction experience is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn is important
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy loads safely
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions with a proactive attitude
