Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Manager to oversee daily operations within our busy food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid background in food production and hospitality, and the ability to manage a team effectively. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a vibrant team while ensuring high standards of food safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. The Shift Manager will be responsible for supervising staff, maintaining operational efficiency, and upholding health and safety regulations.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate daily food production activities, ensuring timely delivery of orders
Lead and motivate team members, providing guidance and support to optimise performance
Oversee food preparation, cooking, serving, and kitchen operations to ensure quality standards are met
Manage staff scheduling, training, and development to foster a positive working environment
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness standards across the premises
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
Handle customer enquiries or complaints professionally, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction
Implement operational procedures to improve efficiency and minimise waste
Conduct regular safety checks and ensure adherence to health and safety policies

Qualifications

Proven experience in food production, cooking, serving, or related hospitality roles
Prior management or supervising experience within a restaurant or kitchen setting
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a diverse team
Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food handling
Experience in restaurant management or culinary supervision is highly desirable
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure
Familiarity with food preparation techniques and kitchen operations
Barista experience is considered an advantage but not essential
Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
