Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive kitchen experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional food quality. As a key part of our kitchen management, the Sous Chef will support the Head Chef in overseeing daily operations, ensuring high standards of food safety and presentation, and managing the culinary team effectively. This role offers an excellent opportunity for career development within a reputable hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in planning and executing menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations
Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including cooks and food production personnel
Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and excellence
Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all kitchen operations
Manage stock levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to develop their skills and promote teamwork
Ensure efficient utilisation of resources to minimise waste while maintaining high-quality output
Support in the organisation of kitchen schedules, shifts, and daily operational tasks
Assist with serving duties during busy periods or special events as required

Experience

Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
Extensive background in food production, culinary techniques, and food preparation
Strong team management skills with the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced setting
Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable
Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations is essential
Experience in cooking, food presentation, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation within a commercial kitchen setting is required
Familiarity with serving procedures during service hours is advantageous
