Job description

Overview
The Shop Manager is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the shop, ensuring that all activities align with the charity's objectives and ethos.

This position requires a dynamic leader who can effectively manage staff and volunteers, enhance sales performance, and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, organisational and communication skills, enabling them to create a positive work environment while driving the success of the charity.

Supervise and manage shop staff and volunteers, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance.
Lead by example in sales activities, actively engaging with customers to promote products and services.
Implement effective time management strategies to ensure efficient shop operations.
Maintain high standards of customer service through effective phone etiquette and interpersonal communication.
Organise and ensure donations and stock levels are maintained and replenished as necessary.
Oversee administrative tasks including scheduling, financial reporting, health and safety and compliance with charity policies.
Foster a collaborative team environment

Skills

Proven leadership abilities with experience in supervising teams in a retail or shop environment.
Strong sales management skills with a track record of achieving targets and driving revenue growth.
Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
Proven ability to recruit and manage a diverse team of volunteers.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact positively with customers and team members alike.
Ability to sell products effectively while understanding customer needs and preferences.
Proficient in time management techniques to optimise productivity within the shop setting.
