Job Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and professional Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our premises, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring activities through surveillance systems, preventing loss, and responding effectively to emergencies. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals committed to maintaining a secure environment in a dynamic setting. The position is paid and suitable for those with a keen eye for detail and a strong sense of responsibility.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular patrols of the premises to deter unauthorised access and identify potential security risks.
Monitor surveillance equipment such as CCTV cameras to observe activity and ensure safety protocols are maintained.
Implement loss prevention strategies by observing suspicious behaviour and intervening when necessary.
Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, or incidents, including providing first aid if required.
Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and security breaches.
Enforce access control procedures by checking identification and issuing visitor passes.
Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services during incidents or investigations.
Ensure all security equipment is operational and report any faults or concerns promptly.

Qualifications

Proven experience in surveillance, loss prevention, or security roles is desirable.
Knowledge of CCTV systems and monitoring techniques.
First aid certification is preferred but not essential; training can be provided.
Strong observational skills with the ability to recognise suspicious activity quickly.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle stressful situations professionally.
Valid security licence or certification as required by local regulations is advantageous. This role is ideal for dedicated individuals seeking a responsible position that plays a vital part in safeguarding assets and personnel within our organisation.
