About us

The Coach House is more than just a café, bar and eatery. Located in the beautiful surroundings of Bowring Park, we're a thriving community destination where great food, hospitality and memorable experiences come together.

We're looking for a friendly, welcoming Bartender who enjoys meeting people and takes pride in delivering great service. If you love creating a welcoming atmosphere and making every guest feel at home, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

You'll create a great experience for every guest, taking orders and serving drinks with warmth, confidence and efficiency.

Responsibilities

Deliver a warm, friendly and efficient service, creating a welcoming experience for every guest.
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including hot drinks, to the highest quality standards.
Greet customers, take orders, make recommendations and respond confidently to guest enquiries.
Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of food and drink menus, promotions and daily specials.
Maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness and organisation across the bar and service areas.
Restock and replenish bar supplies, ensuring products are stored, rotated and displayed correctly.
Process customer payments accurately and follow all cash handling and till procedures.
Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Comply with all licensing laws, age verification procedures (e.g. Challenge 25), food hygiene, allergen, health and safety, and Environmental Health requirements.
Follow all company policies, procedures and service standards, ensuring compliance at all times.
Support opening, closing and cleaning procedures, completing all required checks and records accurately.
Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the management team.

Skills and Experience Required

Previous experience working in a bar, café or hospitality environment.
Barista skills
Experience using Point of Sale (POS) systems and handling cash accurately.
A friendly, positive and proactive approach with excellent customer service skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with guests and colleagues.
Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a busy environment.
A reliable, flexible and team-oriented approach.
Good attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
Understanding of responsible alcohol service and age verification procedures (e.g. Challenge 25), or willingness to learn.
Knowledge of food hygiene, allergens and health and safety requirements, or willingness to undertake training.

Pay: £8.00-£12.71 per hour
