Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service provides Prevention, Protection, and Response services across the county. We are committed to providing a great service to the public to prevent fires and reduce risk for the people of Oxfordshire.

The Training Systems and Administration Team (TSAT) are a specialist team within the Fire service’s Training and Development department. Their role is to undertake the administrative tasks associated with training, such as course management, updating information via the learning management system (LMS), and handling queries relating to learning and development. The team plays a vital role ensuring that we contribute to being an efficient and effective Fire and Rescue Service.

About the role
The successful candidate will be part of a small but pivotal team, reporting directly to the Training and Competency Manager. This is a part time role (20 hours a week) but has the ability to claim up to an additional 5 hours a week on a specific project that the current role holder is involved with. The role will be for 12 months.
The role is based at Witney Fire Station where we operate a flexible working pattern to suit the team and the individual. There may be occasional travel requirements within Oxfordshire to other fire stations or county council locations.

The role is specifically responsible for a variety of administrative tasks within Training and Development that include but are not limited to monitoring career development programmes, evaluation responses tracking, arranging catering for training courses and monthly performance measure reporting. This role also has a responsibility for financial and administrative tasks working nationally within the emergency response driving instructor programme.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely. You will need to be able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. You will be able to work well as part of a team as well as to independently manage your own workload and use your own initiative. Strong organisation is a key skill for high performance in this role and you will be capable of prioritising tasks and managing deadlines.
You should be confident using the core Microsoft Office 365 Programme Suite, with emphasis on the use of Outlook, Teams, and Excel. Previous experience in operating a learning management system is desirable but not essential.
