Team Leader/Deputy Manager (Adult Care Sector)

Pay: £33,280 per annum

Hours: 40 hours per week

At Lime Trees Care Group we are seeking a dedicated and motivated Team Leader/Deputy Manager This is an exciting new position within the company for an experienced care professional to lead and support our dedicated staff in delivering safe, effective, and person-centred care, while promoting a culture of independence and high-quality service delivery.

Lime Trees Care Group specialises in providing high-quality care and support for individuals living with acquired and traumatic brain injuries. Our focus is on empowering people to achieve their maximum level of independence. Through our person-centred approach, we work collaboratively with individuals, their families, and professionals to deliver tailored support that promotes choice, dignity, and positive outcomes.

Across our four specialist settings, we provide bespoke care designed to meet the unique needs, goals, and aspirations of each individual we support. Our commitment to excellence, empowerment, and continuous improvement has established us as a trusted provider of specialist brain injury services.

What the role involves

As a Team Leader/Deputy Manager, you would:

Lead and support care staff in delivering high-quality care.
Ensure care is person-centred and focused on rehabilitation, independence, and empowerment.
Monitor and maintain compliance with Care Quality Commission standards.
Support staff performance, supervision, and development.
Safeguard service users and promote their wellbeing.
Contribute to continuous improvement across the service.
Help ensure positive outcomes for people recovering from acquired or traumatic brain injuries.

You will be able to demonstrate:

✅ Experience working in the adult social care sector.

✅ A minimum Level 3 NVQ / Diploma in Adult Care (Lead Adult Care Worker).

✅ Understanding and practical experience of:

Care Planning
CPAs (Care Programme Approaches or internal care-planning assessments)
SMART Goals
Person-centred care approaches
Rehabilitation and reablement support

✅ Leadership skills, including:

Supervising care staff
Delegating tasks
Monitoring quality of care
Handling safeguarding concerns
Supporting service users with complex needs

✅ Communication and Partnership Working

Job Description

Job Title: Deputy Manager/Team Leader

Responsible to: Area Manager

Job Overview

To lead and support care staff in delivering high-quality, person-centred care that is safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led in accordance with Care Quality Commission standards. The Care Team Leader is responsible for maintaining compliance, supporting staff performance, safeguarding individuals, and promoting continuous improvement to ensure positive outcomes and the wellbeing of those using the service.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Staff Supervision

Lead and support care staff during shifts, ensuring safe staffing levels and effective delegation of duties.
Supervise staff performance to ensure high standards of care and compliance with policies and procedures.
Conduct shift handovers, monitor workloads, and provide guidance and support to team members.
Support recruitment, staff inductions, training, mentoring, and ongoing professional development.
Promote a positive, respectful, and accountable team culture.

Care Delivery and Person-Centred Support

Deliver hands-on personal care and practical support where required.
Ensure care plans, risk assessments, and support records are followed, reviewed, and updated accurately.
Promote dignity, privacy, choice, equality, independence, and person-centred approaches at all times.
Support service users to achieve personal goals, develop life skills, and maximise independence through rehabilitation-focused support.
Encourage participation in meaningful activities, social engagement, education, and community involvement to enhance wellbeing and personal growth.
Contribute to the planning and delivery of individual activity programmes and structured daily routines tailored to each person’s needs, preferences, abilities, and outcomes.
Work collaboratively with service users, families, and multidisciplinary professionals to ensure care and support plans reflect individual aspirations and promote positive outcomes.
Monitor progress, review support strategies, and adapt approaches to meet changing needs and promote continuous development and rehabilitation.
Ensure service users are treated with respect, compassion, and equality at all times, supporting their rights, privacy, and emotional wellbeing.

Safeguarding and Incident Management

Promote safeguarding practices and ensure the protection and wellbeing of vulnerable adults at all times.
Report incidents, accidents, complaints, and safeguarding concerns promptly and appropriately.
Escalate concerns and emergencies in accordance with organisational procedures and regulatory requirements.
Support investigations and ensure lessons learned are implemented effectively.

Communication and Partnership Working

Build positive relationships with individuals using the service, families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies.
Act as a point of contact during shifts, ensuring effective communication and continuity of care.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support positive outcomes and coordinated care delivery.

Key Skills and Attributes

Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Good understanding of CQC standards, safeguarding, and person-centred care.
Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies.
