Job Description

GD Legal Property Solicitors is established as a top conveyancing firm in the Northwest. The Compliance Executive plays a key role in supporting the firm's regulatory and operational compliance framework. The role is responsible for ensuring that conveyancing transactions meet internal procedures, regulatory requirements and lender obligations before progressing to key stages. Working closely with legal teams, the Compliance Executive helps maintain high standards of risk management, quality assurance and client service.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Compliance Team with the day-to-day management of compliance across the firm.
Ensure files comply with internal policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
Support the implementation and monitoring of compliance processes and quality standards.
Escalate compliance concerns, risks or trends to the Compliance Manager where appropriate.
Assist with internal audits and compliance reviews as required.
Review and sign off pre-contract checklists to ensure all mandatory requirements have been completed.
Verify that files are ready to proceed in accordance with firm procedures.
Liaise with fee earners to resolve outstanding issues before approval.
Assist with the sign-off of all other exchanges across the conveyancing department. Ensure exchange requirements have been fully met before approval.
Provide guidance to fee earners on compliance requirements where necessary.

Person Specification
Essential

Previous experience within residential conveyancing or legal compliance
Good understanding of the conveyancing process.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Competent using Microsoft Office and case management systems.

Desirable

Previous experience in a compliance or quality assurance role.
Knowledge of SRA Standards and Regulations.
Understanding of lender requirements and the UK Finance Mortgage Lenders' Handbook.

Pay: £40,000.00 per year
