Full job description

To lead the shift efficiently and effectively, and ensure you communicate regularly with Managers.
Support managers to run the home and workplace according to standards and legislation.
To ensure that appropriate individual care is given to each Resident, in accordance with the Care Plans, including carry out regular checks on residents throughout the night and day, according to intervals detailed in individuals Care Plans.
To answer promptly all resident calls, assessing each situation and supporting any resident who is seeking help.
To manage and support care workers, including inductions and supervision meetings, so they perform their roles safely and to the best of their ability, including Agency Workers.
Acting as a positive role model to colleagues.
To work on a shift basis, to cover annual leave, sickness, nights when required.
To provide on call through our on-call rota system to ensure the smooth running of the home.
To monitor Resident’s' nutritional and dietary requirements, including cook, prepare, and serve food and drinks.
To care for Resident’s who may be temporarily sick or needing special care procedures.
To monitor Resident’s' conditions. Record and report any changes to Managers and professionals, as necessary.
To be responsible for the administration, control, and storage of medicines. To monitor and record medicine temperatures and report any adverse temperature variances which may affect the efficiency of medication stored within to management.
To help maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment in the Home with due regard to appropriate Food Hygiene and Health & Safety Regulations. Including, carry out regular safety and security checks on the building, with reference to fire prevention and external security (all windows and external doors secured etc).
To ensure cleaning duties are upheld in accordance with infection prevention and control policies and practices.
To report all accidents and incidents. Management must be informed via handover, communication book, email or by phone call depending on the seriousness of the incident/accident.
Leading Staff Team Meetings when required.
To participate in training activities / courses, as directed by management.
Working in partnership with other professionals to ensure individuals get the support they need.
To undertake other reasonable duties, as directed by managers.
