Job Summary

Join our dynamic hospitality team as a Kitchen Porter / Cleaner, where your energy and attention to detail will keep our kitchen environment spotless, safe, and efficient. In this vital role, you will support the culinary team by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with basic food preparation, and ensuring all kitchen areas meet the highest standards of hygiene and organization. Your proactive approach will contribute to a smooth-running operation that delights our guests and upholds our commitment to excellence in hospitality.

Duties

Thoroughly clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, work surfaces, and floors to uphold health and safety standards
Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, or portioning ingredients under supervision
Support the culinary team by restocking supplies and ensuring all kitchen stations are organized and ready for service
Dispose of waste responsibly, following proper recycling procedures and maintaining a tidy workspace
Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, service stations, and back-of-house spaces to ensure a welcoming environment for staff and guests
Follow health and safety guidelines diligently, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment
Assist with setting up and clearing away during meal service to support smooth restaurant operations

Skills

Strong understanding of food preparation techniques and kitchen hygiene practices
Previous experience in a restaurant or hotel setting is highly desirable
Knowledge of cleaning procedures specific to hospitality environments
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
Good communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and management effectively
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities during busy service periods
A positive attitude with a focus on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
