Residential Support Worker Children's Home

Location: (Chipping, near Preston)

Salary & Benefits

Hourly rate: £14.25 per hour, sleep rate £54, equivalent to £32,665.50 per annum. 2 on 4 off rotating shift pattern.

Signing on Fee Bonus £1,500, £500 payable after 3 months satisfactory service*, £1000 after 6 months satisfactory service*, (*approved by RI/RM)

Performance bonus: up to £2,400.00 per year, £200 per month.

First year annual earnings potential: up to £36,565.50

Regular annual earnings potential: up to £35,065.50

Company contributes to travel expenses for longer commutes (payable after 15th mile of journey), i.e if your home to work commute is 20 miles, 5 miles @ 45p will be paid by company & again on the return journey.

What you'll do

Provide emotional support, care, and encouragement to children and young people
Help with daily routines, education, meals, appointments, and activities
Support positive behaviour, structure, and independence
Build trusting relationships through consistent and caring support
Work as part of a team to create a safe and nurturing home environment
Follow safeguarding procedures and contribute to care planning
Complete records and reports accurately and professionally

What we're looking for

Essential:

A genuine passion for working with children and young people ages 8-18
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to remain calm, professional, and supportive in challenging situations
Willingness to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep ins
Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

12 months experience working in care, support work, or with young people
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willingness to work towards it
Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs
