We are looking for an Assistant Engineer to join us in our Glasgow bridge team. Working on a wide range of bridge and structures projects you’ll co-create on some of the most prestigious infrastructure programmes in the UK. You'll also be supported by our engineers on your on-going professional development (Chartership) with a tailored plan to achieve your career aspirations.

Your key responsibilities will be:

Producing engineering designs, assessments, and evaluations in accordance with project requirements
Preparing calculations, writing reports, and checking drawings
Checking design calculations and drawings done by other engineers
Performing a wide variety of engineer activities including collating and understanding data, running analyses, developing calculation methods, and working with colleagues to deliver consistently high-quality project work
Contributing to the dissemination of engineering good practice and implementation of our in-house tools such as the carbon calculation tool
With the support of your project manager, plan and prioritise your workload, reporting back on progress against a project budget and programme
Responsible for delivering your own work to a high technical standard, ensuring accuracy through a diligent and careful approach to self-checking.
Attending site visits or client meetings

On top of that, you’ll have:

A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng, BSc, MEng, MSc) and has a clear ambition to work towards Chartered Engineer status
Experience working in an engineering environment (e.g., industry placement or professional role)
Be familiar with either UK standards or equivalent European or Euro Codes
Possess an understanding of CDM Regulations, specifically the designers' requirements
Be able to demonstrate a deep understanding and interest in engineering and a personal commitment to technical excellence
Have the ability and willingness to work in a diverse and multi-disciplinary team
Be able to demonstrate good communication skills and teamwork
