Term time contract - 38 working weeks, 4.59 paid holiday weeks

Catering assistant position available 20 hours per week

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic hospitality environment, supporting the delivery of high-quality catering services for various events and functions. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food, excellent guest service skills, and a keen eye for detail. Previous experience in hospitality, food preparation, or related fields is highly desirable. This paid position provides valuable experience in the catering and hospitality industry, with opportunities for professional development.

Duties

Assist with food preparation and presentation to ensure high standards of quality and hygiene
Serve food and beverages to guests in a courteous and professional manner
Support the setup and breakdown of catering events, including arranging tables, chairs, and equipment
Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to at all times
Deliver catering orders to clients as required, maintaining punctuality and professionalism
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and service areas throughout shifts
Handle guest enquiries with excellent communication skills and phone etiquette
Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and replenishment of supplies
Support team members in delivering exceptional guest services during events

Requirements

Previous experience in hospitality, food preparation, or restaurant environments is preferred
Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
Experience as a delivery driver is advantageous but not essential
Strong communication skills with an emphasis on courteous guest interaction
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to work during busy periods, including weekends or evenings if required
Basic cooking skills and familiarity with meal preparation techniques
Experience in hotel or barista roles is beneficial but not mandatory
Organised with good attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
