Care Assistant - Complex Care

Borehamwood, Hertfordshire

Healthcare Assistant – Complex Care (Borehamwood, Hertfordshire)

£15.20 / £18 per hour / £90 for Live in support sleep in Nights (inclusive of holiday pay)
Day & Night shifts available | 1:1 Care

This is a rewarding 1:1 role where your support makes a real, visible difference every single day — helping a child feel safe, happy, and supported in their routine.

About the Client

Our client is a young 5 year old boy with complex care needs that lives at home with his Mum and Dad. He is currently in primary school and attends with the support of his carers.

Clinical Support

You’ll support the client with clinical tasks outlined in their care plan, which may include:

Nebuliser support
Cough assist
Medication via Gastrostomy
Oral suction
Gastrostomy care
Non Invasive Ventilation
Personal Care

No need to have every skill already — our expert Clinical Team provides full specialist training and competency sign-off.

Shifts Available

We offer consistent, predictable shifts to support your work–life balance and financial stability:

Sun - Thu NIGHT 22:00 - 07:00
Mon, Tue, Fri DAY - 07:00 - 17:00
Wed & Thu DAY - 07:00 - 17:00
Sun Day - 10:00 - 17:00

What You’ll Be Doing

Delivering compassionate 1:1 care in the client’s home
Supporting with school and community access
Promoting independence, dignity, and choice
Providing emotional reassurance and wellbeing support
Working closely with clinical, care, and coordination teams

Your presence will help the client feel safe, supported, and confident in their daily life.

What We’re Looking For

Experience supporting Children with complex needs
Experience in caring for Paediatric age groups (Mandatory)
Confidence with clinical tasks or a willingness to learn
Reliability, professionalism, and strong communication skills
Empathy, emotional intelligence, and a person-centred approach
Ability to work independently within a care plan
