Join the fun as a Catering assistant at Camp Wildfire Festival !

The Role: Chef

Three weekends across August

Weekend 1 : August 21 – 24, 2026
Weekend 2: August 28 – 31, 2026
Weekend 3: September 4 – 7, 2026

As a Chef at Camp Wildfire, you will work alongside the Head Chef and the wider Alchemy team to prepare and serve a diverse range of high-volume meals from early morning through to late evening. You’ll rotate across hot service, prep, grill/BBQ, plating, and pack-down—contributing to breakfast, lunch, and our signature pre-booked evening dinners.

You must be highly organised, flexible, and comfortable working in a fast-paced outdoor kitchen, catering for hundreds of guests each day.

Key Responsibilities

Execute daily prep and cook tasks based on detailed set menus (see below)
Support delivery of:
Breakfast: Cooked breakfasts, yoghurt & granola station, pastries, cereals
Lunch: BBQ, quiches, salads, soup, jacket potatoes, sandwiches, wraps
Dinner (from 5pm): Themed mains (Chilli Bar, Sunday Roast, Asian Fusion, etc.) with sides, sauces, salad buffet, and desserts
Ensure consistent portioning and presentation of high-volume dishes (300+ covers per service)
Rotate across hot line, grill, salad/dessert stations, and dietary-specific meal prep
Maintain a clean, organised station in line with food safety and hygiene standards
Set up and break down kitchen spaces, assisting with cleaning, labelling, stock rotation, and waste management
Work collaboratively with the Head Chef to manage service flow, timing, and team communication

Example Daily Menu Involvement

Based on the schedule, you may assist in preparing:

Breakfast: Sausages, bacon, hash browns, eggs, grilled veg, pastries, porridge, toast
Lunch: Quiche & salad combos, BBQ burgers & chicken skewers, vegan tarts, soups, fresh sandwiches & wraps
Dinner Themes:
Chilli Bar: Wagyu beef, three-bean chilli, salmon stir-fry, with toppings bar
Asian Fusion: Teriyaki pork belly, sweet chilli salmon, spiced tofu with miso cabbage
Sunday Roast: Quarter roast chicken, nut roast, dauphinoise, green veg, caramelised onion gravy
Desserts: Eton mess, tiramisu, fruit salad

Shift Structure

Morning Shifts: 5:30am – 2:00pm
Midday Shifts: 10:00am – 6:00pm
Evening Shifts: 3:00pm – 11:00pm

Camp Wildfire is a unique adventure camp for adults set in the beautiful pine forests of Sevenoaks, Kent. Blending the thrill of outdoor adventure with the energy of a festival, Camp Wildfire offers a weekend filled with over 100 activities—ranging from wild crafts and woodland skills to live music, parties, and wellness experiences. It's a playful, nature-filled escape where community, creativity, and connection come alive.

Requirements

Proven experience in a high-volume kitchen, ideally in events, festivals, or retreats
Strong skills in prep, grill, sauté, baking or plating
Comfortable working in open-air or semi-permanent kitchens (marquees, field kitchens, BBQ setups)
Experience managing or cooking for a range of dietary needs (vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, etc.)
Ability to stay calm under pressure and adapt to changing service demands
Strong communication and team coordination skills
Food Hygiene Level 2 (minimum)
Ability to work long shifts and lift/carry kitchen equipment or stock

Bonus

Food Handling Certificate (valid in your state)
First Aid Certification
Experience working at camps, festivals, or retreats
Barista or coffee experience
