Customer Service, Administration & Telesales Assistant
Location: Slough, Berkshire (SL3 0DF)
Position type: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum + bonus + benefits
Reports to: Head of Operation
Working pattern: Monday–Friday, 9.00am–5.30pm, with an early finish at 4.00pm on Fridays once a month
Office based or Hybrid: Office based

ABOUT THE ROLE
Are you an organised, confident and commercially minded customer service professional who enjoys speaking to customers and building relationships?
Do you like picking up the phone, creating opportunities, solving problems and making sure customers receive fantastic service?
If you're someone who can combine excellent administration and customer service with a natural sales instinct, this could be the role for you.
As our Customer Service, Administration & Telesales Assistant, you will play an important role across our customer service and commercial functions.
You'll be responsible for supporting existing customers, generating new sales opportunities, processing orders, following up leads and helping our commercial team convert opportunities into new business.
This is a varied role where customer service, administration, lead generation and sales all come together.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. LEAD GENERATION
Lead generation will be an important part of the role, supporting both our telesales and field sales activities.
You'll help identify and develop new business opportunities by:
- Contacting prospects generated through advertising, marketing campaigns, exhibitions, referrals and other lead-generation activities.
- Making outbound calls to prospective customers and introducing PizzaSi's products and solutions.
- Asking effective qualifying questions to understand a prospect's business, requirements, purchasing needs and level of interest.
- Identifying high-quality sales opportunities and qualifying prospects for the commercial team.
- Recording lead information and activity accurately within our CRM/database.
- Following up on enquiries and marketing-generated leads in a timely manner.
- Passing qualified leads to Business Development Managers, field sales representatives or other members of the commercial team.
- Maintaining accurate records of lead status, next actions and outcomes.
- Supporting the commercial team with prospect research and account information.
- Helping to continuously increase the number and quality of sales opportunities entering the pipeline.
The goal is simple: create more quality conversations and more opportunities for the sales team to win new business.
2. DIRECT SALES & TELESALES
You'll also have responsibility for speaking directly with existing customers and new prospects to generate sales.
Responsibilities will include:
- Making outbound sales calls to existing customers and new prospects.
- Identifying opportunities to introduce PizzaSi products to new customers.
- Understanding customer requirements and recommending suitable products.
- Communicating product features, benefits and commercial advantages.
- Responding confidently to common customer objections and questions.
- Following up quotations, enquiries and previous conversations.
- Re-engaging dormant or inactive customers.
- Identifying opportunities to increase customer spend and product penetration.
- Supporting promotional campaigns and new product launches.
- Recording sales activity and outcomes accurately.
- Working closely with the Commercial Team and wider sales team to convert opportunities.
You'll be provided with the tools, product knowledge and support needed to become confident in communicating our proposition.
3. ORDER PROCESSING
You'll play an important role in ensuring customer orders are processed accurately and efficiently.
Responsibilities include:
- Processing new and repeat customer orders.
- Confirming product availability, quantities and delivery requirements.
- Liaising with logistics, warehouse and production teams to ensure orders are fulfilled correctly.
- Handling changes, amendments and cancellations.
- Communicating delivery information to customers.
- Resolving order discrepancies quickly and professionally.
- Maintaining accurate customer and order records.
- Following up on outstanding orders where necessary.
- Identifying opportunities to introduce additional products when customers place repeat orders.
Cross-Selling & Up-Selling
Every customer interaction is an opportunity to add value.
You'll be encouraged to identify relevant opportunities to introduce:
- Additional pizza products.
- New product ranges.
- Complementary products.
- Promotional offers.
- Products that may improve the customer's overall solution.
The aim isn't simply to sell more, it's to understand the customer and recommend products that genuinely meet their needs.
4. CUSTOMER SERVICE
Providing exceptional customer service will be at the heart of the role.
You'll:
- Act as a friendly and professional first point of contact for customers via telephone and email.
- Respond promptly to customer enquiries and requests.
- Deal with questions relating to products, orders and deliveries.
- Handle customer complaints professionally and work towards effective resolutions.
- Follow up with customers after orders to ensure they are satisfied.
- Contact customers to update contact details and account information.
- Keep CRM and customer records accurate and up to date.
- Inform customers about relevant new products, promotions and opportunities.
- Re-engage customers who haven't ordered recently.
- Build strong, long-term customer relationships.
- Identify potential issues and proactively resolve them before they become problems.
Great customer service isn't just about solving problems — it's about creating customers who want to keep coming back.
5. ADMINISTRATION & SALES SUPPORT
You'll provide administrative support to the rest of the team and wider commercial team, including:
- Maintaining accurate customer and prospect records.
- Updating CRM systems and databases.
- Preparing quotations and customer documentation.
- Processing sales orders and related paperwork.
- Preparing sales reports and spreadsheets.
- Supporting customer onboarding.
- Organising product samples and information.
- Supporting sales campaigns and promotions.
- Assisting with trade exhibitions and customer events.
- Coordinating meetings and follow-up actions.
- Maintaining organised digital filing systems.
- Supporting the commercial team with general administration and ad-hoc projects.
6. COMMERCIAL TEAM SUPPORT
You'll work closely with the Commercial Director, Business Development Managers and wider PizzaSi team.
This will include:
- Supporting field sales representatives with qualified leads.
- Providing accurate customer and prospect information.
- Following up opportunities generated by the commercial team.
- Helping ensure leads are progressed and followed up.
- Updating the team on customer conversations and opportunities.
- Supporting new account development.
- Helping monitor sales activity and customer engagement.
- Identifying trends, recurring customer questions and potential opportunities.
- Contributing ideas to improve customer service and sales processes.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for someone who is friendly, confident, organised and commercially hungry.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in customer service, telesales, sales administration, inside sales or a similar role.
- Excellent telephone and communication skills.
- Confidence making outbound calls.
- A natural ability to build rapport quickly.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- A proactive approach to lead generation and follow-up.
- Confidence asking questions and identifying customer needs.
- The ability to handle objections positively.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Experience using a CRM system would be advantageous.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive, energetic and professional attitude.
- A genuine desire to learn and develop.
Experience within foodservice, hospitality, FMCG, wholesale, distribution or retail would be advantageous, but is not essential.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience in customer service, administration, telesales, sales support or a similar customer-facing role.
- Excellent written and verbal English.
- Confident telephone manner.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills.
- Comfortable making outbound calls.
- Good Microsoft Office/Excel skills.
- Professional and friendly communication style.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive, proactive and commercially minded approach.
- UK work authorisation.

Monday to Thursday: 9.00am – 5.30pm
Friday: 9.00am – 4.00pm (Once a month)

The role is primarily office-based.
