Full job description

Thornden School are seeking to appoint a warm and friendly, organised and professional individual join our experienced administration team. This post will support the school with varied but essential administration tasks including the smooth Transition arrangements with the Head of Year, covering the school Reception during the day and assist the Senior Leadership Team.

Salary: Grade C (FTE £25,185 - £26,243) (Actual for 19.5 hrs £11,402 - £11,881)

Hours: 19.5 hours per week, Monday, Thursday and Friday (09:00-16:00), Term time only (39 weeks)

Contract: Part time, Term Time, Permanent

Responsible to: Administration Manager

Start date: Thursday 17th September 2026

Closing Date: Wednesday 2nd September 2026

Interview Date: week commencing 7th September 2026

About the role

To undertake administrative tasks to support the School with a transition for the new Year 7 intake, whilst based at reception throughout the school day, providing support and cover.

This role requires strong communication skills, excellent organisational abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will play a vital part in contributing to the wider administrative functions of the School whilst ensuring a welcoming and professional front-of-house experience.

We are seeking professional individuals who:

· A welcoming and professional approach to customer service

· Strong organisational and multitasking skills

· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively

· Proficiency in IT systems, including Microsoft Office

· A commitment to safeguarding and a high level of discretion and professionalism
