Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Waking Nights Housing Officer to provide essential support and oversight during overnight hours within our housing services. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, security, and wellbeing of residents, maintaining effective communication with team members and external agencies. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a supportive community environment, working predominantly during night shifts to ensure continuous service coverage.

Location: Liverpool/Sefton
Hours: 36.75 hours per week – 3 x 12.25-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

Monitor and safeguard residents during waking night hours, ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
Conduct regular patrols of the premises to identify and address any security or safety concerns.
Respond promptly to emergencies or incidents, coordinating with emergency services when necessary.
Maintain accurate records of nightly activities, incidents, and resident interactions using appropriate systems.
Liaise with external agencies, social workers, and healthcare professionals to support residents’ needs.
Provide advice to residents regarding housing-related issues, promoting positive engagement.
Facilitate conflict resolution through negotiation skills, ensuring a peaceful environment for all residents.
Ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures during night shifts.

Requirements

Previous experience in housing management or support work is desirable but not essential.
Strong negotiation skills are essential for managing conflicts and supporting resident needs effectively.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to maintain detailed records accurately.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond effectively in emergency situations.
Flexibility to work overnight shifts on a regular basis, including weekends if required.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with an approachable manner.
A commitment to safeguarding principles and promoting resident welfare at all times.

Pay: £13.45-£14.50 per hour
