The Opportunity

We have an exciting new opportunity for a confident and highly motivated Mechanical Fitter based out of our concrete block plant in Torrs, Shepton Mallet. This is a permanent role with regular shifts and on-site work that lets you be part of a company committed to safety, innovation, and sustainable construction. Here’s what you can look forward to:

Tackling equipment maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns, and supporting site operations.
Perform planned and urgent maintenance to keep things running smoothly.
Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
Keep work areas organised, safe, and hazard-free.
Help train other team members in maintenance tasks.
Follow safety guidelines and complete required documentation.

Who You Are

You’re a skilled, motivated fitter with a technical background and a commitment to safety. You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy hands-on work in a supportive, team-driven environment. Here’s what makes you a fit:

NVQ Level 3 or similar qualification, with experience in welding, cutting, and fabrication.
Ideally familiar with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Strong communicator and team player.
Organised and able to work to schedules and deadlines.
Detail-focused, safety-minded, and adaptable.
Flexible and ready to handle rotational shifts.
Proactive and keen to improve processes
