About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Manager to lead our Somercotes Rail Solutions site. This is a key leadership role where you'll drive operational excellence, champion a strong safety culture and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality products and services to our customers.

Lead the safe, efficient and compliant operation of the Somercotes Rail Solutions site.
Promote and embed a strong Health, Safety and Environmental culture across the business.
Lead, coach and develop operational and support teams to deliver high performance.
Manage production activities to meet quality, customer and operational performance targets.
Oversee site budgets, forecasting and cost control to maximise operational efficiency and profitability.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring excellent service and the effective resolution of enquiries.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimisation and investment projects.
Work collaboratively with internal teams, suppliers, contractors and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
Support the development of new products and manufacturing capabilities to meet customer and market requirements.

Skills Required

What we need from you

Alongside your passion, commitment, enthusiasm and teamwork we’re specifically looking for someone who can bring the following requirements to the role:

Proven management experience within a manufacturing, production or operational environment.
A strong track record of leading and developing teams while promoting a positive safety culture.
Sound knowledge of Health & Safety and environmental compliance within an industrial setting.
Experience managing operational budgets, forecasting and cost control.
Strong planning, organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to balance operational, commercial and customer priorities.
Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience of driving continuous improvement and operational performance.
Competent in Microsoft Office and business management systems.
Experience within the rail, precast concrete, construction materials or heavy manufacturing sector would be advantageous.
A qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management or a related discipline (or equivalent experience) is desirable.
NEBOSH, Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement or project management qualifications are advantageous.
