JOB PURPOSE

The role of the Workshop Controller is to:

Manage the process of optimising workshop resources to meet agreed departmental budgets.
Ensure customer requirements are fully understood and communicated in an effective manner to other members of the department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This Job Description is not contractual, and the content may be updated at any time.

Calculate and manage the effective use of workshop resources for the business.
Monitor individual and workshop efficiencies to ensure key performance indicators are met.
Plan the distribution of work amongst the team utilising available skills mix.
Manage liaison between workshop and Sales team on vehicle progress.
Prepare estimates including parts detail, right through to invoicing
Monitor and maintain workshop standards in accordance with brand requirements alongside the Service Manager.
Maintain and develop own skills and technical knowledge.
Maintain safe working practices and abide by the working rules and standards of the business.
Management of internal preparation work from start to finish

Skills & Requirements

Essential:

Competency in numeracy, literacy and IT.
Good organisational and leadership skill with the ability to delegate and motivate the team.
Strong problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to work under pressure.
Full UK driving licence.
Mechanical background

Experience

Desirable:

Relevant manufacturer experience.
