Introduction:

William Rowland is a metal trading, processing and distribution business in the refined and revert metal sectors supporting a range of industrial sectors, including aerospace, defence, energy, and engineering. The business operates a fully integrated trading, processing, and distribution model, delivering high-quality materials to customers globally from its facilities in Tankersley.

With a strong focus on safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement, William Rowland combines technical expertise with ongoing investment in its operations to support business growth and meet evolving customer and market requirements.

An exciting opportunity is available for full-time Metal Recycling Operative to join our team. The role is ideal for candidates with a background in the metals industry, although this is not essential. Applicants with experience in similar industries or manufacturing who are seeking progression are also encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

· Operate processing equipment to size, prepare, and treat incoming revert materials in line with production requirements.

· Report daily throughput using internal systems.

· Carry out mechanical processing activities (including but not limited to) cutting, shearing, shredding, blasting, and plasma cutting.

· Ensure all materials are processed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures.

· Set up and operate equipment safely.

· Monitor processed output to ensure it meets required specifications and production standards.

· Ensure equipment is well maintained reporting any faults or issues.

· Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times.

· Work as part of the production team and report directly to the Production Manager.

Skills & Experience Required

Previous experience operating industrial processing equipment is highly desirable.
Experience within metals, recycling, or manufacturing environments is preferred.
Good understanding of safe working practices in an industrial setting.
Strong organisational and IT skills.
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
