Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and energetic Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. In this vital role, you will support the kitchen operations by assisting in food preparation, cooking, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. Responsibilities

Assist in preparing ingredients and cooking dishes according to established recipes and standards
Support senior chefs with food production, ensuring timely and efficient service during busy periods
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety regulations
Participate in food plating and presentation to ensure visual appeal aligns with quality standards
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and effective communication
Follow all health and safety guidelines to uphold a safe working environment for everyone
Contribute to inventory management by assisting with stock checks and storage of ingredients

Qualifications

Previous kitchen or restaurant experience is preferred but not mandatory; a strong willingness to learn is essential
Basic knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety practices
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment and support team management efforts
Supervising experience is a plus, especially in guiding junior staff or trainees
Strong understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices in hospitality settings
Passion for culinary arts with an eagerness to develop skills in food production and service
Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude that fosters teamwork and collaboration
