Could you be our next support worker?

Here at Sense, we support people with complex disabilities to live the life they choose. We have an opportunity for a support worker to join our residential service at Castleton Road in Walthamstow; a welcoming six-bed home supporting adults with learning disabilities to live fulfilling and independent lives.

This is a permanent, weekend-only role working 15 hours per week, paying £14.58 per hour (allowance inclusive). Shifts cover a mix of days and nights, and flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness is essential. Training will be provided to the right candidate.

Please note: this post is restricted to male applicants. This is a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010, in line with the needs and preferences of the people this role supports.

We are looking for someone who is:

Positive and person-centred in their approach
Committed to promoting independence, choice, and inclusion
Comfortable working a mix of day and night shifts at weekends
A confident team player willing to attend training as needed

This role in Walthamstow might include supporting people with:

Everyday tasks like cooking and cleaning
Personal care and hygiene
Going into the community for activities and social events
