Marketing & Design Executive

Location: Bournemouth
Hours: 37.5 hours
Salary: £28,420-33,550

About the Role

We are a growing foodservice wholesale company based in Bournemouth, and we are looking for a creative, commercially minded and highly organised Marketing & Design Executive to join our team.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can take ownership of our marketing, social media, design, promotions and digital presence, while working closely with senior management and the wider sales team.

We are looking for someone who can bring ideas to the table and turn them into action. You will have the opportunity to shape how our brand looks, how we communicate with customers and how we promote our products and services.

The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for design, understand social media and digital marketing, and be confident creating professional marketing material from concept through to completion.

Key ResponsibilitiesSocial Media & Digital Marketing

Manage the company's social media presence across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and other relevant platforms
Plan and maintain a regular social media content calendar
Create engaging posts, reels, stories, videos and promotional content
Photograph and film products, deliveries, promotions and company activity
Write engaging captions and marketing copy
Respond to comments, messages and customer engagement
Identify social media trends and develop relevant content
Grow engagement, reach and brand awareness
Monitor social media performance and provide regular reports
Test different types of content and identify what performs best
Support paid social media advertising campaigns

Graphic Design & Branding

Create professional marketing artwork for both digital and print
Design flyers, brochures, product sheets, price lists and promotional material
Create social media graphics and advertising artwork
Design promotional campaigns for new and existing products
Produce banners, posters, POS material and in-store promotional displays
Maintain consistent company branding across all marketing materials
Assist with vehicle graphics, signage and other company branding
Create professional presentations and sales materials
Edit and prepare product photography and marketing imagery
Use Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar design software

Foodservice Product Marketing

Create marketing campaigns around new products and promotions
Promote seasonal products and special offers
Develop product-focused social media campaigns
Create content highlighting product quality, availability and value
Work with the sales team to identify products that need additional promotion
Help develop promotional campaigns for key customers
Create marketing materials for sales representatives and customer visits
Support product launches from initial concept through to promotion

Website & Online Presence

Maintain and update website content
Upload new products and promotional information
Ensure product descriptions, images and information are accurate
Improve website presentation and customer experience
Identify opportunities to improve online visibility
Support basic SEO and keyword optimisation
Monitor website traffic and engagement
Assist with Google Business Profile and other relevant online platforms

Email & Customer Marketing

Create and distribute customer email campaigns
Develop promotional newsletters
Promote new products, offers and seasonal campaigns
Build and maintain customer marketing lists
Create targeted campaigns for different customer groups
Monitor email open rates, clicks and engagement
Help develop customer retention and repeat-order campaigns

Marketing Administration & Commercial Support

Maintain a structured marketing calendar
Coordinate promotional deadlines
Work closely with senior management and sales
Liaise with suppliers regarding marketing material and product information
Source images, product information and promotional assets
Help coordinate photography and video content
Track marketing activity and results
Monitor competitors and foodservice industry trends
Research new marketing opportunities
Help develop ideas to increase sales and customer engagement

The Person We're Looking For

We want someone who is creative but commercially focused.

You should be someone who doesn't need to be told what to do at every stage and who can see an opportunity and take the initiative to make it happen.

You will ideally have:

Previous experience in marketing, graphic design, digital marketing or social media
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong creative and design ability
Excellent attention to detail
Experience managing social media accounts
Experience creating professional marketing content
Good knowledge of Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite
Knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn
Understanding of digital advertising
Basic understanding of SEO and website marketing
Photography and video/content creation skills
Ability to write engaging marketing copy
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
A good commercial understanding of how marketing can generate sales
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
The confidence to bring new ideas to senior management

Desirable Experience

Experience within foodservice, wholesale, hospitality, FMCG, retail or B2B would be highly advantageous.

Knowledge of food products and the foodservice industry would also be beneficial, but is not essential.
