Overview

This role sits within the rural services team and is primarily focused on delivering Community Resource's and Shropshire Council’s jointly developed Ask Assist Act (AAA) programme, our Shropshire-tailored training offer built on the nationally recognised Making Every Contact Count (MECC) framework. MECC is a behaviour change approach that uses day-to-day interactions and routine contacts as opportunities to support people to improve their health and wellbeing. The AAA module sits at the heart of MECC, equipping frontline workers across health, social care, voluntary and community settings with the confidence and skills to notice when someone may be struggling, have a brief but meaningful conversation, and connect them with the right support. This programme accounts for approximately 85% of your time.

Ask Assist Act forms part of the wider programme of organisational and system-wide culture change, supporting staff and volunteers to embed prevention, person-centered practice and strengths-based conversations in their day-to-day work.

This is a front-line, people-facing role. You will spend most of your time directly supporting individuals, communities and partners through the delivery of your programme area, with a portion of your time contributing to VCST group support activity as set out in Appendix A. Direct delivery and practice Deliver high-quality, values-led services to individuals, communities and organisations in line with programme agreements, organisational standards and funder requirements. Use person-centred approaches in all aspects of delivery, adapting your communication style and methods to meet the needs of the people you are working with. Build confidence, resilience and motivation in individuals accessing services, supporting them to identify goals, develop plans and take next steps. Carry a personal programme of training delivery as set out in the Programme Schedule, keeping records current and accurate at all times. Identify and respond to pastoral or safeguarding concerns that may arise during or after training delivery, in line with Community Resource's safeguarding policy and procedures. Promote the AAA programme to diverse organisations and communities across Shropshire, supporting outreach to groups that may be less likely to access training. Contribute to the development of case studies and impact evidence that demonstrate the difference the programme makes. Partner and stakeholder relationships Build and maintain effective working relationships with host organisations, referral agencies and community partners to support training access and delivery.

Represent Community Resource professionally and positively at external meetings, events and networks relevant to the AAA programme. Contribute to the promotion and future development of the AAA programme where appropriate. Monitoring, evaluation and reporting Collect, record and report programme performance data accurately and on time, using Community Resource's CRM and other organisational systems. Contribute to funder reporting for the AAA programme, providing accurate and evidence based information to your Team Lead. Escalate risks, issues or delays promptly, and contribute to finding solutions. Share learning from your delivery with your team and across the organisation to support continuous improvement.

The AAA programme also supports Shropshire Council’s Corporate Plan, future Council Principles and PROUD values through strengthening day to day conversations, prevention and community resilience.
Engage staff and volunteers in service delivery where appropriate and applicable to the role.
Undertake some evening and weekend working when required. Community Resource operates a time off in lieu system to compensate for this.
Undertake any other duties as determined by the line manager, consistent with the level and character of the role. Particular duties and responsibilities may vary from time to time.
