This role sits within LSEG’s Group Procurement function, supporting the Cloud Category team within the Technology spend tower. You’ll be responsible for managing strategic sourcing and supplier relationships across a significant annual spend, with a solid focus on Cloud Service Providers (CSP's). You’ll work globally across teams in London, Bangalore, New York, Tokyo and Beijing, partnering with Technology Leaders, Finance, Legal, FinOps and Vendor Management to deliver commercial value, innovation, and risk mitigation. The role blends strategic planning, supplier performance management, and hands-on sourcing, contributing to LSEG’s transformation roadmap and procurement excellence. This is a high-impact role for someone with deep procurement expertise, strong commercial skills, and the ability to influence senior internal partners and suppliers in a complex, global environment.
Purpose of the role
LSEG is seeking an experienced Technology Procurement professional to join our Group Procurement team, supporting our Technology Infrastructure category with a focus on Database, Middleware and other Enterprise Software.
This is a highly visible role responsible for shaping sourcing strategies, leading sophisticated commercial negotiations, working with senior engineering leaders to support LSEG's global technology strategy. The role manages a significant portfolio of strategic suppliers and technologies that underpin critical business services across the organisation.
Working closely with Infrastructure Engineering, Database Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Operations, Finance, Legal and Vendor Management teams, you will help drive commercial value, innovation, resilience and long-term technology outcomes. This position offers the opportunity to influence major engineering investment decisions, engage with leading software vendors and drive LSEG's ongoing technology transformation.

What You'll be doing
Category Strategy & Commercial Leadership
Develop and implement category strategies across database, middleware and other software.
Shape sourcing and supplier strategies that align with technology roadmaps, business priorities and market developments.
Optimise spend, simplify the supplier landscape and improve commercial outcomes across the technology estate.
Use market intelligence, benchmarking and supplier insight to inform investment decisions and negotiation strategies.
Strategic Sourcing
Lead complex sourcing initiatives, contract negotiations and commercial discussions with leading technology vendors.
Manage high-value renewals and commercial optimisation programmes, including licence rationalisation, subscription strategies and support model reviews.
Ensure contractual arrangements deliver value, flexibility, resilience and appropriate risk management.
Partner with engineering and other colleagues to evaluate technology options and support informed sourcing decisions
Stakeholder & Supplier Management
Build trusted relationships across LSEG
Act as a strategic commercial advisor for infrastructure software investments and supplier engagements.
Lead supplier relationship management activities, including governance reviews, performance management and value realisation.
Facilitate collaboration between internal teams and suppliers to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
Governance & Continuous Improvement
Identify and lead commercial, operational and licensing risks, developing pragmatic mitigation strategies where required.
Support procurement governance, savings tracking and contract lifecycle management activities.
Drive procurement transformation initiatives, helping to improve processes, tools and ways of working
Promote good sourcing/supplier management methodologies
What You'll bring
Essential
Significant experience in Technology Procurement, Category Management or Strategic Sourcing, ideally covering infrastructure software, databases, middleware or enterprise platforms.
Proven track record of negotiating complex software agreements, renewals and licensing arrangements with global technology suppliers.
Strong understanding of software commercial models, including subscription, SaaS, perpetual, consumption-based and enterprise licensing structures.
Ability to translate technical requirements into effective commercial strategies and recommendations.
Strong management and influencing skills, with experience engaging senior engineering and business leaders.
Strong analytical, negotiation and project management capabilities.
Experience working within large, complex or highly regulated organisations.
Desirable
MCIPS or equivalent procurement qualification.
Experience working with suppliers such as Oracle, IBM, Microsoft, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, TIBCO or similar enterprise software vendors.
Knowledge of software asset management, licence optimisation and vendor audit management.
Experience managing contracts and suppliers within hybrid infrastructure environments.
Background in Financial Services, FinTech or other global enterprise organisations.
