Job Overview

We are seeking a vigilant and dependable Security Officer to safeguard our premises, staff, and assets. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring security systems, patrolling designated areas, and ensuring a safe environment for all. This role offers an opportunity to work in a professional setting where attention to detail and proactive security measures are paramount. The position is paid and suitable for individuals committed to maintaining safety and order within our organisation.

Duties

Conduct regular patrols of the premises to deter unauthorised access and identify potential security risks.
Monitor surveillance cameras (CCTV) to observe activity and respond promptly to any suspicious behaviour.
Implement loss prevention strategies by observing customer and staff activities, preventing theft or damage.
Respond swiftly to alarms or incidents, including providing first aid when necessary.
Maintain detailed logs of security activities, incidents, and observations for reporting purposes.
Enforce company policies and procedures regarding safety, security, and conduct.
Liaise with law enforcement or emergency services as required during incidents or emergencies.
Ensure all security equipment is functioning correctly and report any faults or issues promptly.

Requirements

Proven experience in surveillance, loss prevention, or security roles is preferred.
Knowledge of CCTV operation and monitoring techniques.
Valid first aid certification is desirable; training can be provided if necessary.
Excellent observational skills with the ability to recognise potential threats or hazards.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for reporting incidents clearly and effectively.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle stressful situations professionally.
Physical fitness to patrol premises thoroughly and respond swiftly when required.
A valid security licence or certification as per local regulations is preferred but not mandatory; training can be provided if needed.
