Harpenden, Hertfordshire

Care Assistant – Complex Care (Harpenden, Hertfordshire)

(*Initial placement will be based in Tadworth, The Children's Trust Hospital)

£15.20 / £18 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay)
Day and night shifts available

At Harmony Healthcare, we believe exceptional care is delivered by exceptional people. We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Healthcare Assistant to support a young female client in Harpenden. Your care will enable them to live safely, confidently, and with dignity in their own home.

This is a meaningful nurse lead 2:1 role where you can genuinely see the impact of the support you provide.

About the Client

Our client is a young female who benefits from structured routines, reassurance and support both at home and in the community. A nurse who is calm, patient and emotionally mature will thrive in this role. She loves purple, Mini Cooper cars and all Disney films and shows, especially Lion King.

Clinical Requirements

You will support the client with the specific clinical tasks outlined in their care plan. These may include:

Child experience
Ventilation via Tracheostomy
Moving and Handling
PEG feeding
Stoma Care
Suctioning
Cough Assist
Medication Administration
Catheter
Full driving licence and access to a car

Full specialist training and competency sign-off are provided by our Clinical Team, so you do not need to have every skill listed to apply.

Shifts Available

We offer consistent and predictable shifts to support your work–life balance and financial stability.

Day shifts: 08:00 - 20:00
Night shifts : 20:00 - 08:00

What the Role Involves

*Initial placement will be based in Tadworth Hospital, Surrey - KT20 5RU, expecting to return to her home in Harpenden after 5-7 weeks. (Milage incentive in place whilst commuting to Tadworth Hospital. Accommodation available if required)

• Delivering compassionate 2:1 care in the client’s home alongside a Nurse • Supporting with community access and social activities

Promoting independence and dignity in all tasks
Providing emotional reassurance and wellbeing support
Communicating effectively with the clinical, care, and coordination teams

Your presence will help the client feel safe, supported and in control of their daily routine.

• Experience supporting people with complex needs • Be happy working under nurse supervision and delegation

Confidence with clinical tasks (or a willingness to train)
Strong communication and reliability
Empathy, emotional intelligence and person-centred values

Compliance Requirements

Referral Bonus

£150 for every Healthcare Assistant you refer
£250 for every Registered Nurse you refer

Paid once your referral completes 150 hours.
