Full job description

We are looking for a part-time teacher to teach some of our adult students on a face-to-face basis in Shepherds Bush (2, Shepherds Bush Road, W67PJ).

Ideally, English should be your first language. Nevertheless, if you speak and teach a foreign language, please send us a CV for that language with a cover letter where you can add English as one of the languages you teach, as we also have non-native speakers teaching English in our school.

At London Lessons we mainly teach adults and teenagers. We have some morning, daytime, evening and Saturday classes in Shepherds Bush, but we also have partners who bring students to England throughout summer and we offer English classes to these groups.

Teachers working with us have to register as a self-employed teacher with HRMC as soon as they start working here.

It would be a bonus if you already have a book you are familiar with and enjoy using.

You are expected to prepare a 10-week course plan for each course you accept to teach.

If you send us a cover letter with your application, please don't forget to mention if you have any holidays planned from now until December.

Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver English language lessons to students of various levels and ages
- Create engaging and interactive lesson plans that incorporate listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills
- Assess students' progress and provide constructive feedback
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the needs of individual students or groups
- Use technology effectively in the classroom to enhance learning
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a positive learning environment
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance

Skills:
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire students to learn
- Patience and understanding when working with diverse student populations
- Knowledge of effective teaching strategies and techniques
- Familiarity with curriculum standards and educational resources
- Organisational skills to plan lessons and manage classroom activities effectively
