Social Hotspot is hiring a Video Content Strategist in Manchester, aiming to have someone in place by 7 September. The role starts part-time for the first month at £12.71 per hour, then moves to full-time on a salary of £27,000–£36,000 depending on experience.
It's a hybrid role home-based between shoots, on-site with our founder for every client shoot. This isn't remote, so we're only considering candidates based in Manchester or within easy commuting distance.
We're a fast-growing agency helping UK trades businesses — bathroom, kitchen and window companies — win customers through Meta advertising. We've helped clients generate over 20 million+ in tracked sales and our mission is to reach 100 million. We're scaling from 75 to 80+ clients, and this role owns how that growth gets told across everything we make.
THE ROLE
You'll be alongside our co-founder at every client shoot, filming long-form content for YouTube and short-form content for our own channels. From there, you own the strategy behind it; what gets made, why, and how it performs. You'll edit it yourself or brief our existing editor to get it published on schedule, and you'll write and strategise the paid ad creative running across our client campaigns.
This role is entirely about Social Hotspot's own content and creative not client-facing production work.
We want someone who already knows how to do this well and is ready to own it, not wait to be told what to make.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
- Filming client shoots and founder content, long-form and short-form
- Content strategy across YouTube and our own social channels
- Editing, or directing our editor, to a consistent publishing schedule
- Writing and strategising paid ad creative for client campaigns
WHAT WE NEED
- Real videography experience — confident shooting, knows how to get what's needed on-site
- Real editing experience, long-form and short-form
- Creative or content strategy experience — understands what makes content perform, not just how to produce it
- A track record of creating and growing content across social platforms
- A portfolio or reel of previous work is required for this role
HOW THIS ROLE IS STRUCTURED
Part-time for the first month, moving to full-time after that. The scope is the same throughout — this is about hours and capacity scaling, not earning more responsibility. Permanent contract with a 4-month probation period.
OUR PROCESS
Expect a short video introduction, a virtual conversation, and an in-person session where you'll walk us through your own take on our current content and ad strategy — we want to see how you think, not just hear about it.
WHAT YOU'LL GET
- Real ownership from day one
- Direct, hands-on work with the founder on live client campaigns
- A front-row seat as we scale toward 80+ clients
- A credible path to a Head of Content role as the business grows
How to Apply
We read every application but we only seriously consider people who follow this process. It tells us a lot about how you work.
Step 1: Record a 2–3 minute video answering three questions: who you are and your background, your relevant experience in client management or coordination, and why you're the right fit for this specific role. Upload it to Loom, YouTube (unlisted), or any video platform. Send to [email protected]
Step 2: Include the video link in your CV or cover letter.
Step 3: Submit your application. We'll be in touch within a few working days if you're shortlisted.
Applications without a video will not be reviewed no exceptions. This isn't about being difficult; it's a client-facing role and we need to hear how you communicate before we can consider you.
Pay: £26,000.00-£30,000.00 per month
