Timeless Tube is looking for a practical, highly organised Engineering & Fabrication Co-ordinator to join our small manufacturing team in Poole.
This is a varied role combining hands-on workshop work with quality control, production co-ordination and engineering administration. You could be inspecting finished components, checking a technical drawing, organising materials or subcontracted work, updating production information or helping with tube forming and packing.
It would particularly suit someone with engineering, manufacturing or fabrication experience who wants to develop beyond a purely workshop-based role.
Product-specific training will be provided, but previous workshop experience and the ability to read technical drawings are required.

The role
Quality control
A key part of the role will be helping to take the lead on day-to-day quality control.
You will:
- Inspect formed tube and fabricated components against drawings and specifications.
- Support the workshop team to record dimensional and visual checks.
- Identify and report quality issues and non-conformances.
- Check finished products before packing and dispatch.
- Maintain accurate inspection and quality records.
- Work with the workshop team to identify and prevent recurring quality issues.
- Help improve our quality-control systems and processes.
Training will be provided on our products, manufacturing processes and inspection requirements.
Production and engineering co-ordination
You will help keep jobs moving efficiently through production, including:
- Working with office team to schedule production and workshop priorities.
- Ensuring drawings, materials and components are available when needed.
- Chasing materials and components from suppliers.
- Liaising with subcontractors regarding outsourced processes and timescales.
- Coordinating collections, deliveries and other production logistics.
- Liaising with customers where clarification or production updates are required.
Drawings and engineering administration
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings.
- Ensuring the workshop is working from the correct drawings and specifications.
- Organising drawings and maintaining revision records.
- Updating job information and communicating drawing changes to the workshop.
- Maintaining production, engineering and quality records.
- Using spreadsheets and other systems to help organise and track work.
- Helping to develop better systems for production, drawing control and quality.
Workshop support
This is not a purely desk-based role. You will also work alongside the workshop team when required, including:
- Tube forming – full training provided.
- Measuring and inspecting components.
- Preparing jobs and materials for production.
- Packing and preparing orders for dispatch.
- General workshop support during busy periods.
- Occasional collections and deliveries using the company van.
What we're looking for
Essential:
- Previous experience in an engineering, manufacturing, fabrication or similar workshop environment.
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- Practical and mechanically minded.
- Highly organised with good attention to detail.
- Confident using computers and spreadsheets.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable liaising with customers, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Good health and safety awareness.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to combine practical workshop work with administrative responsibilities.
Desirable:
- Metal fabrication experience.
- Quality inspection experience.
- Experience of production planning or scheduling.
- CAD experience.
- Forklift licence/experience.
