Summary

Are you organised, accurate, and confident working with numbers? Do you enjoy structured tasks, working with people, and learning new skills? Collard Group is looking for a motivated Metal Recycling Weighbridge Operator (Apprentice) to join our busy metal recycling operation and develop a career in recycling. This is an excellent opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification while developing the practical and administrative skills needed to support a growing metal recycling facility.

Responsibilities

Weighing in vehicles and record material movements accurately.
Achieve a Level 2 Metal Recycling General Operative with Weighbridge specialism.
Benefit from ongoing training, support, and career development opportunities.
Receive pay increases linked to your skills, experience, and responsibilities.
Be offered the opportunity to undertake a WAMITAB qualification to further develop your waste and recycling knowledge.
Grading incoming and outgoing metal materials.
Producing tickets, weighbridge documentation, and transaction records.
Carrying out compliance checks and ensure records are completed correctly.
Building knowledge of metal grades, recycling processes, and authorised materials.
Communicating confidently with customers, drivers, and site colleagues.
Supporting the smooth operation of the recycling facility through accurate data entry and administration.

Qualifications/skills

A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Interest in recycling, sustainability, or operational environments.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Professional and approachable manner.
Pride in completing tasks accurately and efficiently.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Confidence working with numbers and data.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Organised and able to follow processes.
Comfortable using computer systems and software.
Basic Maths and English skills (GCSE level or equivalent).
