Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Order Assembler to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately assembling orders, handling materials, and ensuring the efficient movement of goods within the warehouse. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in warehouse management and logistics, contributing to the smooth operation of our supply chain processes. Prior warehouse experience and mechanical knowledge are advantageous, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Accurately pick and pack items according to order specifications using warehouse management systems
Handle materials safely and efficiently, including heavy lifting when necessary
Load and unload goods from lorries or storage areas, ensuring proper handling and safety procedures are followed
Operate forklift trucks and other warehouse equipment as required, subject to certification
Maintain organisation of stock within the warehouse, including stocking shelves and replenishing supplies
Assist with shipping and receiving activities, ensuring timely dispatch and receipt of goods
Conduct quality control checks to verify order accuracy and product integrity
Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to during daily operations
Keep work areas clean, organised, and compliant with safety standards

Qualifications

Previous experience in warehouse management, shipping & receiving, or related roles is preferred
Familiarity with materials handling equipment such as forklifts (certification is advantageous)
Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar inventory software
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in picking & packing processes
Mechanical knowledge is a plus for troubleshooting equipment issues
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
Physical fitness to handle the demands of load & unload tasks throughout shifts
