Are you passionate about delivering great customer experiences and helping to keep our operational facilities safe, welcoming and running smoothly?

Your Role

As a Bus Station Central Utility Officer,you’ll work ina team supporting the operation of Bee Network interchanges across Greater Manchester. You will be part of a team responsible for the day-to-day operation of all TfGM transport interchanges, helping customers make their journeys, working closely with the TfGM Operational Control Centre and being an active part of TFGM’s Facilities Operations team.

The Central Utility Officer provides cover for Bus Station Supervisor, Bus Station Assistant, Bee Network Customer Service Assistant and Travelshop Assistant at all of TfGM's operational sites.This varied role requires flexibility and the ability to adapt to the requirements of specific sites and each of the roles covered.

This role combines customer service, retail ticket sales, operational facility supervision and the maintenance of clean, safe and welcoming passenger facilities, all with a focus on delivering an excellent customer experience.

The role has an element of outside working for long periods of the day. You will have regular face to face contact with our customers and must have the ability to resolve a wide range of issues effectively, without the need to escalate.

We have operational facilities across Greater Manchester, and you will be required to cover shifts at any of these locations depending on site requirements and operational demands. You will work to a rota pattern and your location of work will be provided up to 2 weeks in advance and will be reviewed on a regular basis to ensure you will always have details of where you are working and what role on the interchange you are covering.

You will become a key member of the Facilities Operationsteam and play a big part in the delivery of TfGM Facilities Operations objectives. This is a shift working role and involvesweekend working. Normal duty hours are between 0700 2300 Monday to Saturday, 1000 1700 on Sundays and 1000 1800 on Public Holidays.

Facilities Operations are responsible for the safe operation of TfGM's operational sites and for providing face to face help and assistance to the customers of the Bee Network.We are a frontline team for TfGM and the Bee Network and play a crucial role in the delivery of the Bee Network ensuring theservices and facilities remain accessible, safe and reliable.

What you’ll bring

What you do and how you do it is important whatever type of role you work in at TfGM and even small behaviours and actions can have a really big impact. At TfGM, our behaviours bring to life our values of Deliver, Care and Adapt.

You’ll have experience in an operational/customer service role in a bustling environment and you’llrecognisethe requirements and demands of providing excellent customer service to different audiences with the ability to adapt your approach to customers, using different communication techniques to get your message across. Knowing what the Bee Network is all about is key and the role that TfGM operational staff play in the delivery of the network.

You will have a mobile device to assist you in producing records and reports so some experience of using Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams will be necessary.

You will have experience in dealing with challenging/confrontational situations and understand best practices in conflict management and resolution. You will show a passion for cleanliness at our facilities and maintain high standards of cleaning. You will have knowledge of Health and Safety in the workplace and how this relates to safe operations at our interchanges.

What we can offer you

We offer a competitive salary starting from £31,762 per annum plus a shift allowance of 15%, this means that as you’ll work on a rostered basis, we’ll add an extra 15% onto your total pay for the month (not just for certain shifts).You will also be able to claim mileage and travel time expenses and you’ll provided with a full uniform!
