Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join our educational team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive school community, contributing to the development and well-being of students, including those with special educational needs. The position is paid and ideal for individuals passionate about education, mentoring, and working with children of diverse abilities.

Responsibilities

Supervise and manage classroom activities in the absence of the regular teacher, maintaining discipline and organisation.
Implement planned lessons or activities provided by the class teacher, ensuring continuity of learning.
Support students with special educational needs, including those with autism or disabilities, fostering an inclusive environment.
Engage students through creative writing exercises, tutoring, and mentoring to promote their academic and personal development.
Communicate effectively with students to encourage positive behaviour and participation.
Monitor student progress and behaviour, reporting any concerns to relevant staff members.
Assist in creating a safe and welcoming classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.

Qualifications

Experience working with children or in educational settings is desirable.
Knowledge of special education practices and working with individuals with disabilities or autism is advantageous.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
Experience in tutoring or mentoring students is preferred.
Creative writing skills are a plus, enabling engaging lesson support.
A genuine interest in supporting student development and fostering inclusive learning environments.
Flexibility and organisational skills to adapt to various classroom settings and student needs.

Pay: £120.00-£260.00 per day
