Duration: Permanent, part-time (38.10% to 57.14%).

Salary: The full-time equivalent salary is up to £53,232 per annum.

The Post

The College is seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and motivated teacher to join the highly successful Law Department. The post is available immediately or from 1 January 2027 on a permanent, part-time basis (38.10% to 57.14%). The post would equally suit an experienced or Early Careers Teacher (ECT). For ECTs, a full programme of training and development will be provided.

All new members of staff receive mentors to help them settle into the College. This post provides an exciting opportunity for those wishing to specialise in sixth form education. Candidates who have little or no experience teaching Law to Level 3 standard are still encouraged to apply, as the Department are able to support those wishing to make the transition to sixth form teaching.

The Department

The Department is housed in specialist facilities in the Business Centre. The team consists of six other members of teaching staff who work in a collaborative style, contributing to central teaching resources.

The Department is led by a Head of Department, supported by a Course Leader. The Department meets once a week during the College’s dedicated Meeting Slot during the College Day.

The Department has an excellent record of outstanding student achievement, high quality provision and innovative curriculum development. Students regularly progress onto university courses for Law, or to secure employment in the Police, Armed Forces, Teaching, Social Work, Business, or Government and Civil Service. Law apprenticeships also offer many opportunities or positions such as Legal Executives, Legal Secretaries or Solicitors, Criminology, Business and Social Work.

A Level Law
BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate in Law

Salary

The full-time equivalent salary for this post is up to £53,232 per annum.

The contact time for a full-time teacher is 21 hours per week (20 hours teaching and 1 hour Tutor). ECTs receive a 5% or 10% reduction on their timetable depending on whether they are a first or second year ECT.
