We are seeking a dedicated, analytically sharp Compliance & Regulatory Research Intern to support the development and enhancement of our digital compliance platform. This 6-month voluntary internship offers an exceptional opportunity for individuals looking to gain practical experience in the rapidly growing field of legal-tech and SaaS compliance management.

Unlike traditional banking roles, this position sits at the intersection of regulatory frameworks and software logic. The successful candidate will play a key role in deconstructing UK legislative updates into clean, step-by-step processes, contributing directly to our platform's logic engine while developing essential, real-world skills for a career in compliance, legal-tech, or corporate operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

Drawing on our platform's core needs and best practices in compliance management, the intern will:

Regulatory Research & Scanning: Conduct deep-dive research into upcoming UK regulatory, tax, and compliance updates specifically impacting sole traders, freelancers, and micro-businesses.
Compliance Logic Mapping: Support the team by deconstructing complex legislative frameworks into clean, sequential, and step-by-step logic maps to inform and update platform feature sets.
Risk & Trend Analysis: Collaborate on identifying common compliance pitfalls and audit triggers for independent workers, translating complex legal risks into concise, high-value user guidelines.
Documentation & Repository Management:Help maintain internal compliance records and organize our platform's underlying regulatory documentation to ensure it remains accurate, comprehensive, and up to date.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in strategic review sessions to evaluate current compliance workflows and suggest logic enhancements based on shifting industry standards.

Academic Background: Enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program (achieved or on track for a 2:1 or higher). While Law, Business, Finance, or Humanities are highly desirable, we welcome brilliant minds from any discipline.
Elite Analytical Skills: Exceptional research capabilities with a critical eye for detail and a genuine comfort when navigating dense regulatory guidelines, official consultation papers, or statutes.
Translational Communication: Outstanding written English skills. You must possess the ability to analyze information critically and translate dry, complex legal jargon into simple, clear, and scannable instructions for everyday business owners.
Autonomous Drive & Self-Management: Highly disciplined and self-motivated, with a proven ability to manage 14 hours of independent, remote project work each week without direct day-to-day supervision.
Tech-Literate: Proficiency in standard digital workspaces (Microsoft Office Suite, shared document repositories) and an interest in how technology solves traditional legal challenges.

Hours, Location & Commitment

Time: 14 hours per week.
Flexibility: Completely self-paced with zero mandatory set days; hours can be distributed entirely around university, work, or personal schedules.
Location: 100% Remote (UK-based).
Duration: 6 monthss
