Location: Wirral / Liverpool area (face-to-face) or UK-wide (remote)

Who We Are
Wirral Multicultural Organisation (WMO) is a trusted local charity that’s supported Wirral’s diverse communities since 1986. We’re expanding our network of freelance interpreters to help break down language barriers for residents accessing health, housing, education, and wellbeing services.
This role mainly involves in-person interpreting, so you’ll need to be based in or around Wirral, Liverpool, or nearby areas. (Limited remote opportunities are available.)

What You’ll Do
- Provide face-to-face interpretation at local appointments
- Help service users communicate confidently and understand information clearly
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Work flexibly and independently, depending on demand
✅ Requirements
- Fluent in English and one of the listed languages
- Must live in or near Wirral, Liverpool, Chester, or surrounding areas (for in-person work)
- Remote roles considered if based anywhere in the UK(but those who live local or nearby areas take precedence over those who don’t)
- Reliable, professional, and discreet
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Ideally have experience or a qualification in interpreting or be willing to obtain one
- Two professional references in the UK
- Hold or be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS
- Hold or be ready to apply for a Self-Employment Tax Number (UTR)
No Qualification Yet? No Problem!
We’re happy to support the right candidates to access a Level 2 Community Interpreting qualification – either through:
- Our internal training programme (for selected candidates), or
- External courses that are low-cost – we’ll guide you through the process.
