Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Activities Co-ordinator to enhance the quality of life for our residents through engaging and meaningful activities. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, experience in senior care environments, and a genuine desire to promote social interaction and well-being among residents. This paid role offers an opportunity to make a positive impact within a compassionate team committed to excellence in care.

Responsibilities

Plan, develop, and implement a variety of stimulating activities tailored to residents’ interests, abilities, and cultural backgrounds.
Foster an inclusive environment that encourages participation from all residents, including those with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
Collaborate with care staff to assess individual needs and preferences, ensuring activities support residents’ emotional and physical well-being.
Organize group events, outings, and one-on-one sessions that promote social interaction and community engagement.
Maintain accurate records of activities provided, resident participation, and feedback to continually improve programming.
Support residents in maintaining their independence through creative activity planning aligned with their capabilities.
Promote a positive team environment by working closely with colleagues to integrate activities into daily routines effectively.

Skills

Proven experience in assisted living or nursing home settings with a focus on senior care or dementia care.
Strong communication skills capable of engaging residents with diverse needs and backgrounds.
Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care principles and caregiving techniques tailored for individuals with cognitive impairments.
Experience in organizing recreational activities that enhance mental stimulation and physical health.
Compassionate attitude with the ability to motivate residents while respecting their dignity and individuality.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering high-quality care.
Familiarity with care home policies, health & safety regulations, and best practices in elder activity programming.
