New Business HUNTER - Digital and Technology Solutions

Location: Portsmouth

Working arrangement: Hybrid, regular on-site attendance may be required

Salary: £42,000 basic salary plus uncapped recurring commission

Illustrative OTE: Approximately £51,000 in Year 1, £69,000 in Year 2 and £86,000+ in Year 3

For as long as the customer stays active and paying, and you remain employed and performing, you keep earning commission from that win. A strong month doesn't just produce a one-off bonus — it lifts your ongoing earning potential. Win customers early, keep building, and your commission can compound year after year, with no annual reset and no earning ceiling.

This role is built for a genuine new-business hunter who wants their best work to keep rewarding them long after the deal is signed.

About DIGITAL SCIENTISTS®

We're a Portsmouth-based digital services and technology consultancy, helping businesses grow their online presence and transform how they operate. Our work spans web development, SEO, digital advertising, business process automation, custom application development and solutions built across leading SaaS solutions (such as Zoho, Hubspot or Salesforce). We don't just sell products - we solve commercial and operational challenges, building long-term partnerships and recurring-revenue relationships. That's exactly why this role rewards the portfolio of recurring business you build.

The role

This is a genuine new-business position focused on winning new customers rather than managing an existing account base. You'll own the full sales cycle - from generating your own pipeline through to presenting solutions (typically over online calls), negotiating and closing — selling our digital, technology, SaaS, consultancy and managed-service solutions to business owners, managing directors and other senior decision-makers across the UK. You'll run your own territory and create your own opportunities through consistent, intelligent outbound activity, and every qualifying customer you win keeps contributing to your commission for as long as they stay with us.

Key responsibilities

Generate your own pipeline through proactive outbound prospecting — calls, email, LinkedIn, networking, referrals, events and targeted account research
Identify, approach and convert new B2B customers, including suitable cold or dormant opportunities
Sell our digital, technology, SaaS, consultancy and managed-service solutions, engaging directly with senior decision-makers
Understand each prospect's commercial challenges before recommending the right solution
Build an average of at least £2,000 in new qualifying monthly recurring revenue each month — a minimum benchmark, not a ceiling
Own the full cycle from prospecting and discovery through to proposal, negotiation and close
Maintain accurate pipeline, activity and forecasting information in the CRM, working closely with our consulting, technical and delivery teams

What we're looking for

At least three years' experience in proactive B2B new-business sales
A proven hunter who personally generates their own outbound pipeline, rather than relying on inbound leads
Experience selling digital services, technology, SaaS, consultancy, managed services or another complex B2B solution
Confidence engaging and selling to managing directors, business owners and other senior decision-makers
Strong commercial judgement and the discipline to maintain a consistent prospecting routine and an accurate pipeline
Able to attend our Portsmouth office (we may consider remote working for someone with an extensive proven history in achieving the desired results)

Desirable experience

Selling retained, subscription-based or recurring-revenue services
An established network within relevant B2B sectors
A track record of consistently meeting or exceeding self-generated new-business targets

Salary and commission

£42,000 basic salary
6% commission on the qualifying recurring revenue you personally generate, paid from the first month a customer is won and for as long as they remain active and paying (subject to you remaining employed, meeting the required performance standards and the commission scheme terms)
Uncapped, with no annual reset — your portfolio carries forward and compounds as you keep winning (the only requirement is to maintain a 2k/month average each quarter to qualify for all historical commission).

Illustrative on-target earnings at core-target performance are approximately £51,000 in Year 1, £69,000 in Year 2 and £86,000+ in Year 3, and can continue rising beyond Year 3 as further recurring revenue is added. For example, securing £10,000 in qualifying monthly recurring revenue could generate up to £7,200 in recurring annual commission, continuing into future years alongside every other qualifying customer you win.

Earnings figures are illustrative. They assume core-target performance, continued customer retention and compliance with the commission scheme terms. There is no fixed commission ceiling and your earnings may far exceed these numbers with our conservative targets.
