Full job description

We’re looking for a proactive and creative colleague who can plan, design, install and deliver our programme of seasonal and special events at the North Shropshire Portfolio. The portfolio includes Attingham Park, Sunnycroft, Town Walls Tower and Cronkhill.

Salary: £28,500 per annum

Contract: Fixed term until 01.04.2027

Hours: Full time (37.5 hours per week). You'll be required to work some out of hours and weekends. This can be discussed further at interview stage.

Interview date: 11th June 2026

This is a fixed term contract due to end when the postholder returns to the role. At this point we cannot confirm exactly how long this contract will last, but it is unlikely to be longer than the 1st April 2027.

This role is required to work with vulnerable groups including children and any offer of employment or volunteering is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.

What it's like to work here:As part of the Visitor Experience team, you'll report to the Experience and Visitor Programming Manager and work across the portfolio when required, however your main focus will be on the visitor programme at Attingham.

Attingham welcomes over 610,000 visitors a year and our visitor programming is high quality, year-round, audience focused, and ensures our visitors have a reason to return time after time.

What you'll be doing:You'll lead on delivery of our Christmas, Easter and Summer offers as well as high profile special events such as Outdoor Cinema weekends.

You'll work closely with colleagues throughout the portfolio to ensure the delivery is smooth operationally, departments feel involved and objectives are met.

Sometimes the focus for our programming will be to increase growth of our visitor numbers or commercial output, other times it will be more focussed on the connections we can make with our visitors and how engaged they feel.

You’ll work in collaboration to grow existing partnerships and networks, and to build new ones locally which will help design and support delivery of activities as well as progress the work we have been doing to make sure the places we care for are accessible and welcoming to our varied audiences.

Tasks you may find yourself doing in this role will vary from being out in the parkland putting out the next family trail, meeting with a local partner about a new workshop and setting meetings to plan Christmas and involve different teams. This is a hand-on role practical role including programming delivery as well as planning, and you will also be part of the Duty Management team. You'll be responsible on the day for the smooth running of the property during opening hours, acting as the main contact point for staff, volunteers, and customers in case of emergency, enquiry or complaint.
