Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent attention to detail, and a proactive approach to food safety and hygiene standards. This role offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in catering, cooking, and restaurant operations within a dynamic setting.

Responsibilities

Assist with meal preparation and food presentation under the supervision of the head chef or kitchen manager
Support the preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations and equipment
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
Serve meals to customers or staff in accordance with established procedures
Help with stock management, including receiving deliveries and storing ingredients appropriately
Support the team during busy service periods to ensure smooth operations
Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to prevent accidents or contamination

Qualifications

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety practices
Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
A genuine interest in culinary arts and food service operations
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends if necessary
