Job Opportunity at Skylark
Skylark is a small independent restaurant with an extremely passionate and caring team where everyone works together and contributes their ideas for menu changes. We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our existing team who can work 40 hours a week which will include day time shifts and weekend evening shifts. Start date for this job is 01/07/2026.

Expectations of the role

Oversee daily kitchen operations; ensuring high standards of food quality.
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, adhering to presentation standards.
Manage inventory and supplies, ensuring the kitchen is well-stocked with necessary ingredients.
Implement and maintain food safety protocols to ensure compliance with health regulations.
Communicate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
Help develop new menu items and specials that reflect current culinary trends.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years kitchen experience in restaurant setting.
Strong culinary skills with a deep understanding of food preparation techniques.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
Strong communication skills with kitchen team and front of house team.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Passion for ingredient led cooking and creating exceptional dining experiences.
Previous experience in team management is highly desirable.
